What is a Prosecutor Coordinator?
Prosecutor Coordinators are the professional individuals in each state who
serve the state prosecutors by assisting them in the administration of their offices
and the pursuit of justice.
Training: Primarily prosecutor coordinators are responsible for identifying,
developing and implementing training and resource programs for state prosecutors
and their supporting personnel.
Legislation: In addition, prosecutor coordinators monitor
criminal law as it develops in state legislatures and alert District
and State's Attorneys regarding proposed criminal justice legislation.
What is NAPC?
The National Association of Prosecutor Coordinators (NAPC) is the only national professional association of prosecutor coordinators. It consists of 45 member states and meets at a minimum of twice a year to share and exchange ideas, information and trends that impact state prosecutors. As an association, we are served by a Program Manager.
Member Profiles: Most members of the NAPC are former state prosecutors; all are experienced in training prosecutors. Additionally, they share the common goal of increasing and strengthening prosecutors' professionalism through training resources and legislation. The charter under which Prosecutor Coordinators operate varies according to the individual state's organization. Some are authorized as state agencies, some as private/non-profit associations and some as a combination. Of Prosecutor Coordinators chartered under their state agencies, some work within their state's Judicial Branch. All members have the common mission of providing the most effective professional training and resources available for prosecutors.
NAPC's Mission
To provide a forum for the exchange of ideas and information and the development of programs and services for the mutual benefit of prosecutor coordinators and prosecutors
